Graduation cap and Certificate

Graduates will receive a Certificate of Satisfactory Completion. By submitting a barber operator application along with the necessary documents to the New York State Division of Licensing Services to apply to take the N.Y. state exam for their Barbers License.

Those who do not wish to take the state test immediately after completing school may request that the School assist them in registering with the State so that they may work as an Apprentice for a Licensed barber until they receive their own Master Barber’s License.

A.B.I. maintains a full-time job placement office for both graduates and students who may wish to work on a part time basis while still attending school.

We can not guarantee placement to any particular student, as there are many factors involved in what it takes to obtain and keep a job. There are factors that are frequently beyond the question of a person’s skills as a barber. During their training we expose students to the realistic needs of an employer and how to conduct themselves in seeking and keeping an interview for employment, general boundaries of proper conduct on a job, and with the public.

Our Placement Office is constantly reminding barber shop and salon owners of our available Labor Pool. We collect data on their shop needs and preferences. Our Graduates are much in demand for both their superior training and skills.
