Job Placement - American Barber Institute

A.B.I. maintains a full-time job placement office for both graduates and students who may wish to work on a part-time basis, while still attending school.

We cannot guarantee placement for any particular student, as there are many factors involved in what it takes to obtain and keep a job as a professional barber. Beyond a barber’s practical skills, personal and professional conduct are imperative in this industry. During student’s training, we expose them to the realistic needs of an employer. This training includes how to present yourself in an interview and the general boundaries of proper conduct between you, your employer, and clientele.

Our Placement Office consistently reaches out to barbershop and salon owners to inform them of our available labor pool. We collect data on their shop needs and preferences, and make a concerted effort to match our graduates with businesses that provide a mutually beneficial situation for both the employer and prospective employee.

Four Months Training!

Students can graduate from ABI in as little as 4 months. Barbering is a career-oriented skill that can be learned in a short amount of time and in a vocation that is essentially recessionproof.
